Note: This work was sold as part of five watercolours at auction 'Binoche et Giquello, Paris, France, December 16th 2015, Lot 1'. Some of the watercolours are listed under numbers 85-89-5-A; 85-89-4-A and 2-10-T in the archives of Louis Hayet, but we are currently unaware as to which catalogue number accompanies this work. We know that the other four watercolours display the cachet of the signature ‘L Hayet’. We also know the size of the works vary from 15.5 x 9.5 cm (6.1 x 2.32 in) to 16 x 23 cm (6.3 x 9.1 in) but we have not got definitive sizes for each work. It is documented the works were produced between 1884 and 1885, however the date of this watercolour clearly displays as 1886.
