Literature: Note: This work was sold as part of twelve charcoal, graphite and ink on paper studies and drawings at auction 'Binoche et Giquello, Paris, France, December 16th 2015, Lot 57'. Some of the works are listed under numbers 85-89-9-D; 85-89-12-D; 85-86-29-D; 85-84-11-D; 85-89-15-D; 85-89-16-D; 85-84-21-D; 85-85-19-D; 85-84-18-D and 85-89-17-D in the archives of Louis Hayet, but we are currently unaware as to which catalogue number accompanies this particular work. We know that the other eleven works display the cachet of the signature ‘L Hayet’. We know the size of the works vary from 14.5 x 10 cm (5.71 x 3.94 in) to 22.5 x 18 cm (8.86 x 7.09) but we have not got definitive sizes for each work.
